If you are not aware of the recent app roll out by the meta owner, Mark Zuckerberg, you are definitely living under a rock. It’s called Threads and the app is receiving severe backlash ever since its launch. The insanely striking resemblance of Threads with another popular app, Twitter is quite evident.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the new app on July 5th, 2023. Well, digital content consumers all over the globe were quick to notice the sheer similarity although more than 2 million signs ups were registered in just the initial 2 hours. In response to the app, twitter owner and a popular media personality, Elon Musk was quick to respond.

“Based on recent reports regarding your recently launched ‘Threads’ app, Twitter has serious concerns that Meta Platforms, has engaged in systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets…”

This is a piece of the letter sent by Twitter official as a threat letter to sue Meta over copying Twitter. Well, the response was instant and has been going around on the internet rapidly.

Elon Musk to file lawsuit against meta owner over Threads app letter

In addition, Elon Musk has also been quite active regarding the matter. He has one challenged and threatened the meta owner that a lawsuit will soon be on its way. Talking about the matter on twitter, Mr. Musk wrote;

“It took me $44 Billion for this app and now the Lizard boy just decided to hit copy and paste. It’s personal now. See you in cage, Zuck..”

While the twitter accused Mr. Zuckerberg of copying the entire machinery and system, the meta owner has responded that while inspiration sounds feasible and ok but accusations of cheating are not welcomed. Twitter has also accused meta to hire dozons of former Twitter employees to create a copycat.

Well, it’s yet to see how Mr. Musk accusing the meta owner for stealing his intellectual property will turn out in the coming days.
